Activities

In addition to a challenging academic curriculum, St. Aloysius students enjoy an array of enriching programs and activities during the regular school day, after school and over the summer months. Programming ranges from sports to choir practice, summer school, art club, after-school mentoring, dance lessons and more. Many schools consider these activities as extracurricular. At St. Aloysius, they are part of our holistic model, and they are integrated into core academics.

- Students use art in science class, making a series of drawings to better understand how seeds germinate.

- Younger students piece together quilt blocks to learn about shapes and colors.

- In oratory, students research, memorize and recite pieces by Frederick Douglass, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Langston Hughes, expanding upon what they are studying in social studies class about slavery, women's suffrage and the Harlem Renaissance.

These are just a few examples of the enriching activities that permeate student life at St. Aloysius. Students thrive with this programming that expands their horizons, provides context for academic subjects, and encourages a love of learning.
