Administration
St. Aloysius is fortunate to have strong leadership with extensive experience in education and administration.


Thomas D. Harvey
President
Thomas D. Harvey joined St. Aloysius School as President in July 2011. Mr. Harvey has extensive experience and exceptional expertise in the field of education. He came to St. Aloysius from Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News, Virginia, where he was Headmaster of a pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade co-educational day school for nine years and credited with leading the challenge to create a school with a commitment to developing the whole child, academically, physically and morally.
During his career, Mr. Harvey led three other schools: Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota; Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Illinois; and Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Missouri. He also served on the faculty of three others: Poly Prep in Brooklyn, New York; The Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts; and St. Peter's School in Peekskill, New York.
Mr. Harvey received his AB in Classics from St. Peter's College, his MALS from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Rockhurst College. He is also a Klingenstein Fellow of Teachers College, Columbia University and served on their advisory committee for eleven years. During the 2008-2009 year, he was an adjunct professor at Teachers College, mentoring administrators from a number of independent schools.
Tom grew up in New York City where he was an all-city football player at Xavier High School.


Carol Martino
Principal, Lower School
Carol Martino moved to St. Aloysius in July of 2008 from St. James Catholic School in Savannah, Georgia, where she taught third grade and served on a Diocesan committee to redesign the Math curriculum. Prior to her work at St. James, she spent two years teaching third grade at Notre Dame Academy in Savannah. Her service to Notre Dame Academy was part of the Alliance for Catholic Education program, run by the University of Notre Dame. This program serves under-resourced Catholic schools in the south, while providing professional, spiritual, and community support to new teachers. In addition, in the summer of 2006, Mrs. Martino served as a Mentor Teacher for the Alliance for Catholic Education Program in Notre Dame, where she supervised pre-service teachers during their summer practicum.
Mrs. Martino received her Masters degree in Education from the University of Notre Dame, where she also earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She is originally from Buffalo, New York.


Courtney Nunns
Principal, Middle Schools
Courtney Nunns joined the St. Aloysius Administrative team after serving as the
Coordinator and LSWG teacher for the Bowman program for one year. Previously,
she taught high school language arts and served as an administrative intern for two
years in Kansas.
Ms. Nunns started her language arts teaching career in 2003 in Kansas City, Kansas
at Washington High School. There she served as an administrative intern, the chair
of the literacy sub-committee for reaccreditation and was the coordinator of a Small
Learning Community. During her three years in Kansas City, she was also selected to
be a panel member for the Urban Education Initiative Network and was a member
of the building Leadership Team. Ms. Nunns worked on curriculum development for
the district and assisted in implementing an action-based research literacy program.
After moving to Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas, Ms. Nunns once again
served as an administrative intern and was chairperson of a Professional Learning
Community. She taught Advanced Placement language arts, as well as on-level
Language Arts classes, during her three years there.
Ms. Nunns received her Masters of Science in Education, School Leadership from
The University of Kansas and her Bachlor of Arts in English from The University of
Colorado. She is currently working on her Masters of Education, Leadership, Policy,
and Politics at Teachers College, Columbia University. In 2008 she was a Fulbright-
Hayes Scholar to Morocco, Africa. She has been nominated as a Who's Who Among
American High School teachers. Ms. Nunns is originally from Hutchinson, Kansas.
