St. Aloysius Students Visit Greater Harlem Nursing Home
At St. Aloysius, we promote in students strong values, which includes giving back to the community and learning how to be a "person for others." This October, our students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade had the opportunity to spread some cheer at the Greater Harlem Nursing Home.
Prior to their visit, students decorated their own pumpkins, using paint and other materials to make unique and beautiful designs. Our older middle school students also contributed as they helped younger children complete the projects. The students also decorated their own cards.
Once the projects were complete, students in 4th and 5th grades, along with Principal Martino and faculty, brought the cards and pumpkins to the Greater Harlem Nursing Home. It was a great opportunity to spread joy and get everyone in the Halloween spirit...and a special moment to reinforce the importance of reaching out to others in the community.
