Parents Reading Time at St. Aloysius

At St. Aloysius, our parents are engaged and involved in their children's education. One clear example can be seen every Wednesday afternoon in the library.

Throughout the fall and early winter, parents have volunteered to visit St. Aloysius and read to students...not only to their own child's class, but to other grades as well. Parents select their favorite stories to read, sometimes bringing books from their own home library. Sr. Margaret Dennehy, our librarian, also helps parents choose exciting and age-appropriate books for each grade.

Reading aloud to children is one of the best ways to model reading fluency and reinforce comprehension skills.

Our children love meeting their friends' parents and family members. And every student at St. Aloysius benefits when parents share their talents, spirit and energy!
