Spiritual Formation

St. Aloysius is an institution inspired by the Jesuit tradition and its founding principles of social justice and service to others. We are influenced by the ideal of cura personalis, which speaks of the care of the whole person - the education of the body, mind, and spirit.

This holistic view of education makes St. Aloysius a unique school in Harlem. Our comprehensive model includes strong core academics, an array of programs after-school, cutting-edge technology in every classroom, an extensive library, separate-gender middle schools, integrated music and art programs, an oratory program, athletics, summer school, summer leadership camp and much more.

The St. Aloysius model reflects the Jesuit principles that are at the roots of its founding. Attention to these values are part of students' daily experience. Children at St. Aloysius learn the importance of a strong spiritual life, upholding the values of social justice, giving back to their community, and becoming a "person for others."
